Ocean Network Express (ONE), one of the global leading shipping line, appreciates the JICT investment on procuring two new quay container cranes (QCCs), the most modern equipment, hoping these new facilities will increase this terminal productivity.
“We, shipping lines, ONE in particular, appreciate very to JICT for these new QCCs. We hope these new QCCs will help this Indonesia’s leading container terminal to provide optimum services,” ONE Region Head of South Asia RHQ Collin De Souza said on his remark speech for the new QCCs initial operation inauguration.
Collin is so proud as ONE is the first shipping line being served by these new cranes.
“We are so proud as our vessel remain the first served by these new cranes. We hope we continue to tie up cooperation with JICT,” Colin said further on Thursday (June 23).
As reported earlier, Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) inaugurated the initial operation of two Quay Container Cranes (QCC) one Wednesday, June 22, 2022, proving the commitment of this Indonesia’s leading oceangoing terminal to increase productivity and do innovation toward digital port.
These QCCs worth $15 million in total that are produced by Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer SANY. These twin lift post Panamax QCCs are the most modern container crane in the country and are expected to fasten loading unloading process at the terminal.

JICT marked its 23 years operation with these new most modern cranes, said JICT board of directors and board of commissioners.
JICT is the joint venture between Hutchison Port Holding and state port operator Pelindo. Until now, JICT still led the Indonesia’s oceangoing containerized trade, handling more than 2 million TEUs per annum.
Many parties have sent appreciation for this investment, but on the same time they expect that these new facilities will support JICT to increase productivity.
Head of Tanjung Priok Port Authority Wisnu Handoko appreciates this JICT investment, hoping these new QCCs will fasten the process of loading/unloading and encourage the JICT and Tanjung Priok Port in general to go digital.
“As regulator, we appreciate this investment and hope these new QCCs will increase productivity,” he said.

Wisnu expects that these new QCCs will fasten the loading process at JICT from currently 26 moves per hour and the off-loading from 32 moves per hour.
“Further, as these QCCs are the most modern, we hope they will support Tanjung Priok Port to go digital,” he said further.
