Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), is playing a vital role in supporting the government’s efforts to strengthen national food security. The company ensures the smooth unloading of BULOG’s rice commodities, a key component of the national food distribution system.
This initiative follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Pelindo and BULOG in December 2023, outlining cooperation for the loading and unloading of food commodities.
SPMT manages 16 ports across Indonesia, providing unloading services for BULOG’s rice shipments. These include ports in Belawan, Malahayati, Lhokseumawe, Dumai, Tanjung Emas (Semarang), Tanjung Intan (Cilacap), Jamrud Nilam Mirah (Surabaya), Tanjung Wangi (Banyuwangi), Balikpapan, Makassar, and Lembar.

Additionally, services are offered through SPMT’s subsidiary, PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas), covering ports in Teluk Bayur (Padang), Palembang, Panjang (Bandar Lampung), Tanjung Priok, Pontianak, and Kijing.
As of November 2024, SPMT Group has successfully handled the unloading of 2.36 million tons of BULOG’s rice commodities. Of this, SPMT managed 1.38 million tons (58%), with the highest volumes recorded at Jamrud Nilam Mirah (416,378 tons) and Tanjung Emas (377,095 tons). Meanwhile, PTP Nonpetikemas contributed 983,000 tons (42%), with Tanjung Priok handling the largest share at 628,198 tons.
SPMT President Director Ary Henryanto emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering top-quality service across all its terminals, spanning Indonesia from east to west. “SPMT remains dedicated to providing 24/7 operational services to ensure the smooth flow of goods, particularly during the high-demand period of the 2024/2025 holiday season,” he said.
Echoing this, Indra Hidayat Sani, President Director of PTP Nonpetikemas, affirmed that the subsidiary is focused on optimizing unloading efficiency and speed through careful planning and control. “We are committed to ensuring that every unloading process is seamless and timely, supporting the even distribution of food commodities across the country,” he said.
