IPC TPK Records a 15.50% Throughput Increase in November 2024

As the year draws to a close, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK), a subsidiary of Subholding Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, has reported impressive growth in throughput across its operational areas. In November 2024, the company handled 280,509 TEUs, marking a significant 15.50% increase compared to 242,862 TEUs in the same period last year.

Cumulatively, IPC TPK recorded a total of 2,885,249 TEUs in container handling from January to November 2024, an 8.6% rise from the 2,656,646 TEUs achieved in the same period of 2023.

“To anticipate the surge in goods flow toward the year-end, we are ensuring operational readiness, managing traffic inside and outside the port, closely monitoring weather conditions, and maintaining intensive communication with stakeholders to ensure a smooth loading and unloading process,” said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary & External Relations of IPC TPK.

This growth was largely driven by an increase in container volumes from the Palembang area and a substantial rise in export commodities from the West Sumatra region. Notable increases include cassia vera (470.59%), gambier (200%), cocoa (100%), and perlite (550%). Additionally, full-load shipments from Jakarta to Teluk Bayur grew by 10.38%.

IPC TPK continues to spearhead the transformation and optimization of its Planning & Control-based services. In November 2024, the company introduced the TOS Nusantara system at the Teluk Bayur area to enhance container handling efficiency. The Terminal Operating System, accessible via a web-based platform, enables seamless service for terminal operations and customers alike, anytime and anywhere.

“The digitalization and transformation of our operational services have significantly reduced port and cargo dwell times, thereby lowering logistics costs and providing added value for stakeholders,” Pramestie concluded.
