Indonesian Port Business Association (ABUPI) said it would step up collaboration to support transformation of the country’s port sector following its 2026 National Port Seminar and annual working meeting.
The seminar brought together government officials and industry players to discuss policy direction and strategic priorities for Indonesia’s port industry.
A senior official from the Ministry of Transportation, Director General of Sea Transportation Muhammad Masyhud, delivered remarks on behalf of the transport minister, outlining the government’s policy direction for ports.
Deputy Foreign Minister Arif Havas Oegroseno highlighted the role of Indonesia’s key ports in global shipping routes.
Masyhud also presented an official letter to ABUPI recognizing its role as a government partner in developing the national port sector.
Participants included regulators, cargo owner associations across sectors such as coal, nickel, industrial estates, petrochemicals and palm oil, as well as port operators including Krakatau Bandar Samudera, Samudera Indonesia, Chandra Asri and state-owned Pelindo.
ABUPI Chairwoman Liana Trisnawati said the association would continue to play a strategic role in building a resilient and sustainable port industry.
Separately, the association’s national working meeting reviewed its 2025 programmes and incorporated seminar outcomes into its 2026 work plan.
“The success of this series of activities reflects the collaboration of all ABUPI members,” said organizing committee head Muhammad Willy.
ABUPI said the initiatives discussed would be translated into actionable measures to support long-term development of Indonesia’s port sector.
