PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim (PSM) has completed the replacement of the drive unit and Central Processing Unit Programmable Logic Controller (CPU PLC) on a Quay Container Crane (QCC) operated by the Joint Operational Cooperation (KSO) TPK Koja terminal in North Jakarta, the company said on Tuesday.
The installation work was carried out by a three-member technical team over a 10-month period and was finalized in April 2026.
The upgraded CPU PLC system is used to automatically control crane movements, including hoist, trolley and gantry operations, with the aim of reducing downtime caused by human error and improving loading and unloading efficiency at the terminal.
Director of Operations and Commercial at PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim, Nurhadi, said the QCC at TPK Koja is one of the terminal’s main cargo handling units.
“The replacement of the drive unit and CPU PLC is expected to support safer, more accurate and more efficient crane operations while maintaining loading and unloading productivity,” he said.
According to the company, the upgraded system also helps optimize electricity consumption for the crane drive motors, contributing to more energy-efficient port operations.
PSM said it has also undertaken similar equipment installation projects at several ports across Indonesia, including Jambi, Pontianak and Bagendang, as part of its broader port operational support business.
