The Pelindo Group subsidiary outlined green port initiatives, inclusive workplace policies, and stakeholder communication as core strategies supporting sustainable port operations and governance
PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas), a subsidiary of the Pelindo Group, outlined its environmental, social and governance (ESG) and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategies at the 2026 Indonesia DEI & ESG Awards (IDEAS) Conference in Jakarta, emphasizing that sustainable business practices and effective stakeholder communication are integral to the company’s long-term growth.
The conference, organized by PR Indonesia under the theme “From Value to Impact: DEI and ESG Communication for a Sustainable Indonesia,” brought together corporate leaders, academics and communications practitioners to discuss best practices in advancing ESG and DEI across industries.
PTP Nonpetikemas was represented by Senior Manager Corporate Secretary Fiona Sari Utami, who joined a panel alongside Gary Ng, Founder and Director of Infinity Continuity; Dr. Indra Ardiyanto, a corporate communication and sustainability practitioner; Marthella Sirait, Chief Executive Officer of KONEKIN; and Mona Monika, Head of Marketing & Communications at PT Bank DBS Indonesia.
During her presentation, titled “Diversity, Partisanship, and Growth in ESG & DEI as a Port Ecosystem-Based Business Strategy,” Fiona said the company views ESG and DEI as key elements of its business transformation rather than standalone corporate initiatives.
“The ports we manage are not merely places for loading and unloading cargo. They are ecosystems connecting the national supply chain, businesses, government, communities and the environment,” she said.
“ESG is our effort to preserve this ecosystem, while DEI reflects the organization’s ability to respond to the diversity and complexity of its stakeholders.”
Fiona said PTP Nonpetikemas has implemented a range of environmental initiatives to support greener port operations. These include replacing conventional lighting with energy-efficient LED systems, expanding the use of overhead cranes, electrifying grab loading cranes, operating wastewater treatment facilities, implementing an integrated port waste management system and planting 11,000 mangrove seedlings.
On the social front, the company continues to carry out corporate social responsibility programs focusing on coastal community empowerment, disaster relief and blood donation activities.

To strengthen governance, PTP Nonpetikemas has adopted the Pelindo Group’s integrated whistleblowing system, which is connected to Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), while regularly conducting internal awareness programs on good corporate governance and fraud prevention.
The company also considers DEI a foundation for building a more adaptive and innovative workplace. Its initiatives include equal employment opportunities, increasing women’s representation in leadership positions, non-discriminatory recruitment policies and community empowerment through corporate social responsibility programs.
Fiona said effective communication is essential to ensuring ESG and DEI initiatives are understood and supported by stakeholders.
PTP Nonpetikemas engages stakeholders through media relations, company publications, social media, port visits and collaborations with customers, government institutions, academic institutions and local communities, she said.
The company also encourages employees to act as ambassadors of its ESG and DEI values in their daily operations and interactions with stakeholders.
According to Fiona, consistent communication and collaboration help strengthen public trust while supporting the development of a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable port ecosystem.
Through its participation in the IDEAS 2026 Conference, PTP Nonpetikemas reaffirmed its commitment to sharing best practices, strengthening cross-sector collaboration and integrating ESG and DEI into its broader strategy to create long-term value for Indonesia’s logistics sector and economy.
