TPS Surabaya Throughput in January Rose 25.49% YoY

Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), the biggest container terminal in East Java that handled most of the export import of containerized cargoes from the province enjoyed a significant throughput growth in January.

Data from the terminal says, TPS handled as many as 129,663 TEUs in January, a 25.49% increase YoY, compared to January 2023. Most of the throughput are of export import, reaching 119,547 TEUs, while domestic with only 10,116 TEUs during the month.

This shows a continuing trend since last year (2023), in which the terminal also enjoyed a yearly growth.

In 2023, TPS throughput reached 1,449,641 TEUs, a 6% increase YoY, from 1,366,196 TEUs in 2022.

Both international and domestic grew positive in 2023. TPS international throughput last year reached 1,375,641 TEUs, increasing from 1,293,502 TEUs in 2022. Meanwhile, its domestic throughput slightly increased from 72,694 TEUs (2022) to 73,713 TEUs (2023).
