PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), also known as Pelindo, through its subsidiary PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), which specializes in non-containerized terminal services, is implementing a series of strategic measures to ensure seamless logistics operations across all its terminals during the 2025 Eid holiday season.

In Java, the terminals include Tanjung Emas, Tanjung Intan, Jamrud Nilam Mirah, Gresik, and Tanjung Wangi. Kalimantan’s operations encompass Balikpapan, Bumiharjo Bagendang, and Trisakti, while Sulawesi is home to Makassar and Parepare.

Additionally, the terminals in Bali and Nusa Tenggara, including Benoa, Lembar, Bima, and Badas, are also under its management.

SPMT also oversees the operational readiness of 11 multipurpose terminals and 5 satellite terminals, including those operating vehicle terminals under IPCC, spread across Indonesia.

Key Preparations for Smooth Operations

To accommodate the expected surge in cargo and passenger traffic during Eid, SPMT has made thorough preparations to ensure smooth loading and unloading processes. These efforts include ensuring the availability and readiness of facilities and equipment, managing traffic flow, designating buffer zones, and working closely with cargo owners to address transportation restrictions ahead of Eid.

Arif Rusman Yulianto, Pelindo Multi Terminal’s Operations Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing optimal services. “We are fully prepared to handle both cargo loading and unloading as well as the expected increase in passenger traffic for the Eid homecoming and return flows,” he said. “We are dedicated to ensuring that goods distribution, particularly strategic commodities that support industry and community needs, runs smoothly. Additionally, we aim to ensure that passenger flows at the port are seamless, safe, and comfortable.”

Passenger Terminal Readiness

For the eight terminals managed by SPMT—Tanjungpinang, Sibolga, Tanjung Balai Karimun, Tanjung Emas, Gresik, Lembar, Bima, and Parepare—the company has taken specific steps to ensure readiness for the surge in passenger traffic. This includes mobilizing sufficient staff, ensuring the availability of facilities, and optimizing services.

The passenger terminals are equipped with a wide range of amenities, including waiting rooms, arrival areas, VIP lounges, barrier gates, lactation rooms, medical service facilities, parking lots, places of worship, fire extinguishing equipment (APAR), and accessible facilities for disabled passengers.

Additionally, a Lebaran Transportation Post, coordinated by the Ministry of Transportation in collaboration with other stakeholders, will operate 24 hours a day. This post will serve as the central hub for monitoring passenger comfort and safety, ensuring coordination and providing timely information.
