Tanjung Priok Drives Strong Performance for PTP Nonpetikemas

Indonesia’s busiest port, Tanjung Priok, has emerged as the main contributor to PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas), reporting throughput that exceeded targets and posted double-digit growth through November 2025.

The Tanjung Priok Branch recorded cargo throughput of 14.4 million tonnes by November, surpassing its revised work plan and budget (RKAP) target of 13.23 million tonnes for the period, equivalent to an achievement rate of 109%, the company said.

The result marked a 12% increase from the 12.08 million tonnes handled in the same period last year, underlining the port’s role as the backbone of Indonesia’s multipurpose terminal operations.

General cargo accounted for the largest share at 8.49 million tonnes, supported by dry bulk volumes of 4.45 million tonnes, liquid bulk of 1.4 million tonnes and bag cargo of 62,300 tonnes. The combination made Tanjung Priok the single largest contributor to PTP Nonpetikemas’ national throughput.

“The Tanjung Priok Branch’s performance through November 2025 reflects our consistency in supporting smooth national logistics flows,” said Budi Utoyo, branch manager of PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok.

“Exceeding the RKAP target confirms Tanjung Priok’s role as a key driver of the company’s overall performance.”

Across its network, PTP Nonpetikemas recorded total throughput of 43.12 million tonnes by November, equivalent to 88.18% of its full-year target. More than 34% of that volume was contributed by the Tanjung Priok Branch, making it the top-performing unit within the company.

PTP Nonpetikemas President Director Indra Hidayat Sani said the branch remained central to achieving national throughput targets.

“Tanjung Priok is the main foundation of our national performance,” Indra said. “We continue to strengthen multipurpose services by improving productivity, implementing the PTOS-M digital operating system and upgrading facilities. With certified human resources in place, we are confident Tanjung Priok will remain an operational benchmark in the port industry.”

In addition to higher cargo volumes, the branch also posted improvements in loading and unloading productivity, contributing to consolidated operational gains across the company, management said.

Tanjung Priok handles a wide range of commodities, including dry bulk such as sand, cement, sugar, sulphur and salt; liquid bulk including crude palm oil (CPO), RBD olein, RBD stearin and palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD); as well as general cargo such as gypsum, scrap metal, plywood, steel coils, vehicles, heavy equipment and other industrial products.
