PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (SPSL) is intensifying HSSE implementation through safety programs, digital monitoring and operational standard improvements to support sustainable and reliable port support services across Indonesia.
PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva is strengthening the implementation of health, safety, security and environmental standards across its operational areas as part of efforts to support a safer and more sustainable national port ecosystem.
The company said it continues to expand Security, Safety, Occupational Health and Environment (HSSE) initiatives throughout its business operations amid ongoing transformation within Indonesia’s port and logistics sector.
Retno Soelistianti, Director of Strategy and Business Development, said the company considers HSSE culture a critical foundation in maintaining operational reliability and supporting long-term business transformation.
“As our business group continues to transform, we are ensuring that all operational subsidiaries gradually integrate safety aspects into every operational activity and regional development initiative,” Retno said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We aim to provide services that are not only integrated, but also healthy, safe and sustainable in supporting the national port ecosystem,” she added.
SPSL operates as a subholding focused on port support services and integrated port area development within Indonesia’s broader maritime and logistics ecosystem.
The company said it has consistently implemented a series of programs designed to strengthen HSSE awareness among employees, operational partners and external stakeholders across its business areas.
The initiatives include regular safety induction programs, emergency drills and exercises, as well as safety forums aimed at improving understanding of occupational health and safety standards.
According to SPSL, the programs are intended to help create a safer and more conducive work environment while supporting stronger operational performance across the company’s business lines.
The company also continues to strengthen preventive measures through routine safety briefings, management walkthroughs and safety patrols to ensure compliance with occupational safety standards and identify operational risks at an early stage.
To improve oversight and program effectiveness, SPSL conducts monthly monitoring and evaluation meetings related to the implementation of occupational health and safety programs throughout its operational areas.
The company said the evaluations are intended to ensure that HSSE standards remain consistently implemented amid increasingly dynamic operational activities in the port and logistics sector.
SPSL has also begun integrating technology into several HSSE initiatives to improve operational monitoring and efficiency.
Among the measures introduced are online-based safety induction systems and the optimization of CCTV monitoring to supervise HSSE implementation more effectively across operational sites.
The company has additionally introduced a Safety Induction Card initiative for truck drivers entering its operational area in Pontianak, aimed at reinforcing compliance with mandatory safety standards.
Indonesia’s port and logistics industry has increasingly emphasized occupational safety and environmental standards as operators seek to improve service quality, operational reliability and international competitiveness.
State-owned port operators and logistics companies have also accelerated digitalization and operational standardization efforts in response to growing cargo volumes, tighter regulatory requirements and rising expectations from global supply chains.
SPSL said it plans to continue strengthening HSSE implementation through improvements in operational standards, expanded safety culture programs and ongoing innovation across all business lines.
The company added that these initiatives are expected to support the development of a healthier, safer and more competitive port support services ecosystem in Indonesia.
SPSL’s efforts also align with broader industry initiatives aimed at improving sustainability practices and operational resilience within the country’s maritime logistics sector.
