Two new rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) have arrived at Terminal Kijing as part of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas’ (PTP) investment for this new terminal.
The SANY-built RTGs, imported from China, were transported aboard MV Billie Monrovia, a heavy-lift cargo vessel designed to carry oversized and specialized equipment, including port machinery and industrial cargo.
The vessel berthed at Terminal Kijing at 3:00 a.m. local time on Saturday, July 4, according to Sunarno, Deputy Director of Operations and Commercial at PT Pelayaran Tresna Muda Sejati, the vessel’s shipping agent responsible for coordinating its arrival, berthing and cargo discharge.
“The vessel arrived at Kijing early this morning at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4,” Sunarno said.
He said the vessel arrived on schedule and expressed confidence that the unloading process would proceed smoothly.

“The ship’s arrival went according to our plan,” he added.
The RTGs are part of PTP’s investment program and will be operated by its subsidiary, PT IPC Terminal Peti Kemas (IPC TPK), to strengthen Terminal Kijing’s container yard operations.
Once commissioned, the cranes are expected to improve cargo-handling productivity, increase operational efficiency and support growing container volumes, reinforcing PTP’s efforts to enhance Indonesia’s port and logistics infrastructure.
