The Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) Institute has entered a new chapter in its leadership, with Akbar Djohan formally assuming chairmanship from Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi during a handover ceremony on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

The transition was confirmed at a meeting of the ALFI Institute Foundation, held at the Krakatau Steel Building in Jakarta. Akbar, who currently serves as General Chair of ALFI’s Central Executive Board (DPP), takes on the institute’s leadership role ex officio, in line with the organization’s Articles of Association and Bylaws.

The session was attended by key ALFI figures, including Secretary General Trismawan Sanjaya, DKI Jakarta Regional Chairman Adil Karim, and several prominent former ALFI leaders such as Masli Mulia, Iskandar Zulkarnain, Parlagutan Silitonga, and outgoing institute chairman Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi.

Founded in 1999, the ALFI Institute serves as the educational arm of the association, focusing on capacity-building through vocational training and certification for professionals in freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain management.

Under its mandate, the institute seeks to develop a competitive and professional workforce by fostering global insight, technological fluency, and entrepreneurial skills in the sector.

Over the years, the ALFI Institute has earned international recognition, securing accreditations from both the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA).

Its training programs, including the Basic International Freight Forwarding Course, the FIATA Diploma, and the FIATA Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management, adhere to global standards and are delivered by instructors trained under UNESCAP and FIATA’s Train-the-Trainer programs.

The institute continues to play a pivotal role in improving Indonesia’s logistics human capital, offering intensive, participatory programs that integrate international best practices with local industry needs.
